So many Questions

So many Questions

Within in this article I’m going to ask a lot of questions. These are questions that seem to be on everyone’s mind. I’m going to give my opinion on some of the questions.

Why is it okay for motorcyclist to not wear helmets? When it’s more dangerous if they are in an accident they could have severe injuries to their heads. But we as motorist have to wear a seatbelt or get a ticket. When cars are more safe that a motorcycle when it comes to accidents. Who ever passed this law needs to rethink it. I feel that it should be our choice if we want to wear a seatbelt or not.

Why do we have to pay for car insurance? I feel it should also be a choice whether we want insurance on our cars or not.  What is the purpose? If I never have an accident then the insurance companies are getting rich.

Why is mandatory that we now have to have health care or we will be fined? Health care should be a choice because not everyone can afford it. The affordable care act is really not affordable if you have a big family. Now if the government wants to give everyone free healthcare then it would okay.

Why is it that medical marijuana is legal in many cities and states but the government can still come in raid the facility?  Why have the people vote if it doesn’t mean anything.

Why do men get paid more that a women doing the same job? When is this double standard going to stop? A woman is just as good as a man or better. I’m just saying.

Why are fast food restaurants only paying minimum wages in communities where the cost of living is really high? I don’t see them getting $15hr but a least $10hr so they can be able to pay rent and utilities.

Why is everything always a race issue? When it comes to law, a person of color will get all day for a crime. But a person of non-color (white) gets a slap on the risk. An example would be that white kid that killed three people while drunk driving. He gets probation because a psychological explanation call spoil syndrome. WTF … really. Now let that been a black child he would have got all day.

Why is college tuition so high? I thought education is supposed to be free.

Now the ultimate question is:  Why are the American people taking Donald Trump serious? How is he in the top running for president for the Republican Party? He speaks on no issues but building a wall to keep the Arabic people of the United States. If that’s not prejudice then what is? I’m going to leave this question open to see how the American people feel about this

2016-Metrical Composition

IN-TRO-DUC-TION

The saddest thing is to be a minute to someone, when you’ve made them your eternity. ERMAG understand there is a arguing for metrical compositions (Poetry) can be dangerous, especially beautiful poetry, because it gives the illusion of having had the experience without actually going through it.

The distinguished art of metrical composition is the act of expression put through the vernacular jungle. The pen becomes the machete that slices its way through emotion and thought; clearing a path to spiritual enlightenment. Expanding the method of understand and feeling- bring about a new sight. The third eye is used to properly read and digest the soul spelled out on page. Deeper than intellect and higher that emotion – this is the process of divinity made physical.

Now let’s break it down to the essence. One first finds the objective laying in the mind – what is wishes to be expressed to the world. The heart begins to configure the imagery so the portrait will remain balanced and precise. Only then does the spirit take over – letting all the water colors of your energy focus on taking it all to a hidden place. A dissolute wilderness that has only been seen by the eyes of the master. It’s there that the pen is found and the creator begins to work in full harmony with self and surroundings. These moments are those of pure beauty emitted through burst like a star being born, Scriptures scribbled in solitude grow legs and walk into the ears of strangers Hands form to grasp the hearts and minds It just takes time.

The stage is set, the lights are luminous, and the mic is on.

A Million Ain’t Enough

A Million Ain’t Enough

The 20th anniversary of The Million Man March was just a few weeks ago. I was in attendance at the event, blessed to be in the first row of the audience. Watching it personally grow from ten strangers to over a million kin. What seemed to be such a wondrous and amazing event in person was dim lit in the halls of social and mainstream media. Mainstream media lacking coverage, even Black Entertainment Television wouldn’t cover the March.

I was forced to ask myself

“In 2015, was a million enough?”b3

What does it take for something to be caught and held in the eyes of the media, tweeps, and participators?

HASHTAGS RULE THE WORLD
#Justiceorelse , check got the hashtag. The hashtag was trending world wide for a week straight, but the event itself didn’t get as much coverage as the hashtag did. A weird and complex dichotomy that social media has perfected ..

– Being interested in only a certain specific part of something in order to appear supportive.

That is as “social” as social media gets lately.

Then there’s location, location, location .. Well the National Mall is the best location you can have. The best place to stage something as big as The Million Man March 20th anniversary. You would think like in ‘95 that it alone would be good enough to stir the masses, civilian and news corporation a like.

The fact that African-American, Hispanic-American, and Native American leaders all who spoke that day should bring news cameras from around the country, if not the world. No news cameras, lackluster coverage, zero correspondent presence the entire weekend.
The program that day reached millions of people in 400 cities around the world, but our own country wouldn’t showcase such an event in our national capitol.

A million peaceful people standing together in the most racially tense era since the 60s, but even that isn’t worthy of headlines. What does it take to make people care or pay attention? Is a Nation of Islam sex tape necessary, or a fight between Farrakhan and Al Sharpton online with “WorldStar!” being screamed in the background a few dozen times? Black women not scantly clad or twerking to Miley Cyrus & Juicy J. Black men dressed unlike the imagery of “thugs” we’re shown in the news everyday and even worse in suits & ties.
In a atmosphere were walls and banning entire populations is a reasonable or rational step in our country, can we even expect to be heard? When rhetoric of hatred and arguing provides you with 250 minutes of coverage on the top three news networks, peace just doesn’t sell.
With a year riddled in protest, uprisings, political contest, division, and tribalism. A million people standing together in any aspect is an accomplish even more vital than 20 years ago. Apartheid has come to America and no one is interested in derailing the process – just filming the whole thing.

What do you have to do so that you’re taken seriously?

Is there anything left? Or has the ADD/ADHD generation bought into the myth that we can’t concentrate on one thing for too long without losing our minds… has the revolution been lost? In the age of sharing information and conversation the word can spread about something, but the hope that word has of actually being held on to or given the chance to be appreciated before the next news story pushes it to the shoulder of the Internet is near zilch. Being 23 years old, I find myself brushing off matters of importance awaiting the next “thing” , but exactly how large does a “thing” have to be to win someone’s undivided attention? We can retweet and share violence, sex, & drugs all day, which I have a tendency to do a lot, myself. We can share memes, quotes, and inspirational videos all day, which again I do a lot myself. Even take time to tune in for an entire hour of Empire, which I have recorded on my DVR right now. We won’t take time though to speak to each other about news, thoughts, society unless it’s an argumentative stance.

“Peace has no place in the marketplace.”b7 Protest and revolts are the headliners. Hatred and anger garner attention, not only the predominant attention, but all of it is dedicated only to the drama and spectacle of life in America. This is what is seen as the mentality of the country. This is the embodiment of why there are protest and why there are new organizations in the country. This is why protestors feel they have to interrupt presidential candidates to be heard. This is why economic protest are being so heavily preached, because the power of words is being ignored unless those words used are meant to be harmful. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is used as a pillar and light of guidance for our country because he used words instead of violence and his ideas were to include those people that we usually forget. Words are respected today, words aren’t acknowledged as life changing as they once were. Dr. King spoke on “redistribution of the pain” in regards to economic protest, because he knew that other tactics would be needed. He saw them what is so evident now – People choose more times than not to disregard than hear out.b2That’s why we didn’t see the gangs that made peace to came together and vow to change their neighborhoods. That’s why news wouldn’t show “Violence Interrupters” who were part of the “street gangs” in New York. BET didn’t show the faces that were displayed on the Jumbotrons of the nameless that have died by police hands or in police custody or in racially stemmed incidents around the country. There were no mainstream media cameras to speak to Rodney Mitchell’s mother. There were no angry words, or calls for killing police, or burning down a CVS … so there was no airtime for such an event.
It seems for America at large if it doesn’t come from mainstream media or outlets they own; Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat.. then we don’t have the time for it.
And for American Media in 2015, a million just ain’t enough.

All of this doesn’t mean to stop. Never stop thinking, trying, organizing, pushing, fighting, rising, and loving. After 500 years of being overlooked and dismissed the people at the March, those that watched and supported, and those that related to the sentiments expressed that day are used to being underground. We are use to raising up from the bottom and toppling the powers that reign high. Protests are growing more wide spread and more detailed in execution. The ground is opening up and Frankenstein is beginning to awake.

Movie Review: War Room

Maybe you saw it ! You did go to see it didn’t you? Well, you need to! Yes, you owe it to yourself to see the best movie I’ve seen in decades and trust me when I say that I love my movies! Yes, of course, I’m talking about “War Room.” What other movie could I possibly be talking about on this level?

  • Provident FilmsWar Room’ is a 2015 American Christiandrama filmdirected by  Alex Kendrickand cowritten and produced by his brother Stephen Kendrick. This film reaffirms the core teaching known by just a handful that prayer needs to be staged and prepared for much like combat does in a military ‘War Room‘ environment where life and death can hang in the balance.Of course, nobody saw me shed a tear [at least not those who weren’t in my row.]”Kendrick brothers, you are wrong for that! Here’s the scene: Its time for you to fight Elizabeth. Its time for you to fight THE REAL ENEMY You gotta love it! At least I did but what is all of this “War Room” stuff about anyway? Man, you’re asking all of the great questions! My friend, it is about prayer, open communication between you and the one who made you. No silly, not your parents; God, your creator and sustainer! The War Room is about opening up and keeping clear and free lines of communication between you and Jesus Christ our Lord as your savior and redeemer. It is about having the barracks of your heart and soul in constant connection with headquarters.   from “WAR ROOM” …. My friend, could it be my that the reason that so many of our lives might look like ‘war torn’ battle grounds demolished by enemy tactics is because so very few of us regularly spend time in the ‘War Room?”“What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.” My friend, could it be that prayer, to be brutally honest is not something that most of us really seem to make much time for or tend to practice much in today’s times [unless of course, there is a declared state of national or personal emergency?]Could we be honest about most of our churches? In fact, if you ran a survey throughout most churches today you would discover that the PRAYER SERVICE is the least participated service of the entire church! This fact, just goes to show us how desperately in trouble we are and how much we have fallen. On one occasion, his disciples had seen his own lifestyle, passion and power of his prayers and they asked him to teach them how to pray. Look at Jesus’ personal instruction to them that still serves as a powerful model today:”And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.8“Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9In this manner, therefore, pray:       Hallowed be Your name.       Your will be done       11Give us this day our daily bread.         12And forgive us our debts,         As we forgive our debtors.       For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.16 “Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 17But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.Text “prayerpower” 40691 Prayer then, is nothing something to just read about or talk about. It’s something to practice on a regular basis.Yes, we need to invite God into our lives through prayer and get his divine intervention employed in our war like scenarios. However, he won’’ come in unless we invite him.“God I cant make it without YOU! I NEED YOU to show up and show out in my life. God, I’m tired and exhausted from doing my thing…..please forgive me, wash me, clean me up, demonstrate your power in my life…. And have your way!”If you would like to join the “Joshua Generation” in our online prayer meetings held on the first three days of every month [1st, 2nd and 3rd] please do the following and we’ll get you the information you need.Text “WarRoom” 40691 There are no numbers missing.”
  • We’ll hope to meet you in our very own online “War Room.”
  • [Note: no spaces in the spelling and the # to text is what is referred to as a “short code.
  • To
  • We meet ONLINE for prayer @ 530am central on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of each month.
  • Brother s and sisters, you owe it to yourself to make prayer a very essential part of your lifestyle on both a personal and public level. “War Room” has inspired me to take my own prayer ministry a lot more seriously. I sure hope you go out of your way to watch it and share it with others who may be inspired in this areas as I have been on a personal level.
  • Prayer then, is our invite to God. Prayer is our humble request. It is our saying to him,
  • The movie “War Room” teaches us that whether you are experiencing battle ground fatigue in your marriage, relationships, finances, health or just life in general; the solution is the same; we need to PRAY!
  • Ladies and gentlemen, let’s face it; we can have all of the teaching and instruction in the world about prayer but if we don’t ‘drop down’ on our knees to practice it, it’s all for naught.
  • To
  • To Hear A Message About How You Go To Higher Ground By Applying This Prayer Model In Your Own Life:
  • 14“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
  •        13And do not lead us into temptation,         But deliver us from the evil one.
  •        On earth as it is in heaven.
  •        10Your kingdom come.
  •        Our Father in heaven,
  • 6But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
  • MATTHEW 6:5-18
  • Consider this, our Lord Jesus himself, was a man of very passionate prayer wasn’t he? Now, if Jesus prayed as much as he did as ‘the only begotten Son of God,’ then why wouldn’t we?
  • It’s critical that you get this. How could it be that perhaps the most ESSENTIAL ministry in the church is also the most NEGLECTED ministry at the same time?
  • § We’ve ADDED a few PROGRAMS § But we’ve DELETED so much PRAYER!
  • Tragically, this lack of prayer is not just limited to a personal level. We even find a lack of prayer in most congregations. Yes, sadly the very places that should be “houses of prayer” very seldom are.
  • [written by Joseph M. Scriven / composed by Charles Crozat Converse]
  • What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
  • Do you remember the old lyrics from the hymnal that you would probably here sung from time to time but not nearly as much now?

  • Personally speaking, here’s what I’ve found to be true about prayer. Prayer is our surest pathway to higher ground. It is our 24-7 hotline to get in touch with headquarters, particularly the commander in chief of all of our human affairs. In my opinion, prayer makes us stand up a little bit taller seeing that we will never be any taller than when we are on our knees in prayer.
  • Its time for you to TAKE OFF THE GLOVES and DO IT.”
  • Its time for you to fight for your marriage
  • “You need to do your fighting in prayer. And you need to kick the real enemy out of your home …. with the word of God!
  • What was my favorite part of the “War Room?” Great question. It’s really hard to say because there were so many great parts but there is this one part when the seasoned, wise prayer warrior and widow, Miss Clara Williams [played by Karen Abercrombie] speaks heart and soul staring into the eyes of Elizabeth Jordan, a discouraged wife, mother and professional realtor who has all but lost faith [played by Priscilla Shirer] and it sort of kind of gave me that feeling that you might have gotten when you first saw “Rocky” running up the endless set of steps right before his big fight!
  • Okay I’ll tell you. There were so many powerful parts in the movie. In fact, the movie as a whole demonstrated the Kendrick’s ‘spiritual giftedness’ in pulling out every emotion there is in a man out of him in public and in the most embarrassing way possible.”
  • This dynamic, classic is the 5th film produced by the Kendrick brothers but their very first project produced through their own Kendrick Brothers Productions.

“Discipline or Disqualification? Discipline is Better!”

I Corinthians 9:24-27 [NKJV] “ Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.

Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.   But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.”

The thrill of the game, the adrenalin rush, the pulse pounding impact of the watching the last few moments of a close game between rival teams. The spike in blood pressure; the blood curdling and agonizing scream you hear when our team loses …you would think that folk were playing the game themselves.

Yes, SPORTS … if not yourself, the average guy you know loves sports. Get this … with no compensation of any kind and with no physical value being obtained from it whatsoever, most of your friends are hooked on sports like powerful drugs! In fact, depending on the season, may I suggest that some of your friends may even live for the game!

Think of all of the time and money spent on one’s favorite sport and what they will do just to support or connect with their favorite athlete or team. For most of us our connection to sports starts pretty early in life. Whether “pee wee” league or intramural level, many of us tend to take our sports pretty serious.

Gratefully, if you watch them closely, there are so many powerful, life lessons that can be learned from the athlete and regardless of sport, one thing the athlete teaches us is how to utilize discipline in our lives.

See it is the athlete’s daily dose of disciple that keeps him from becoming disqualified. So, with this thought in mind, can we change sports for just a moment?

The sport for now is life and if you don’t mind I need to ask you a few serious questions to see what kind of athlete you really are:

How are you playing your game? Are you even in the game or are you still on the bench? [Out of fellowship]

Are you studied up on your winning plays? [Bible study]

Have you been coming to practice and grinding it out like you are supposed to or have you been taking short cuts? [Sin]

Are you a team player or has it been all about YOU? [Pride]

How’s your diet? Are you eating the right things; body , soul and spirit?[Meditation]

What kind of godliness in your life are you exercising? Have you set proper boundaries to maintain favor with God and man? Are you doing what it takes to earn the respect of your family, friends and those who depend on you? [Real fans]

Do you keep yourself in check with proven, winning strategies or do you let anything go in your life? How do you handle those temptations that run across your mind from time to time? How do you handle your own shadows? Your own past? Your own secrets? Your own skeletons? Your own insecurities? [Humility & Accountability]

See, there’s a lot of stuff that can get you disqualified from the game …. How will you handle those?

Before I go, allow me to offer you this thought; no matter how uncomfortable it may seem, stay with the discipline! Know this; All great athletes do and it will be no different with you. In fact, being disciplined will even be more important for you in life than it will be for your favorite athlete in the game! Make no mistake about it, you will always have the MOST to win or lose and YOU will always be the real star.

So, I say to you, let your light shine bright as it ought to and as long as it has been ordained to by living with discipline that at times may seem painful.

The reality, however is that you can choose discipline or disqualification BUT discipline is BETTER!

Stay in the game CHAMP.

Book Reader’s Spotlight: Angie Christine

Angie Christine was born in Brooklyn New York to the Late Johnny Hitt Jr. and the late Betty Hitt. As a youngster Angie would gather her friends at her house and tell them stories she would make up on her own. She appeared in a commercial for a local record store in Manhattan called Disco Mat back in the late 70’s. As she got older and went to high school she was performing, and writing for her dramatic arts class at Sheepshead Bay highschool in Brooklyn Ny. After college she joined the NYPD police force in Brooklyn and decided to leave New York after 9-11 . Divorced and raising a daughter, Angie moved to Newport News Virginia to start a new life. Angie Chirstine decided to write her first book after the closing of her employment at Circuit City. In 2009, “The Fireman” was released and everyone loved the story. She decided to release another book titled Opposites Attract. In April 2010, she and a friend headed south to Atlanta Georgia to the Monique Show where she presented the actress and talk show host with copies of her books. Monique gave Angie the biggest hug and shedded a tear because of the fact that Angie added her to her dedication page in her second book. Her 3rd book titled “Tantalizing Pleasures” is also a big hit.

“Tantalizing Pleasures” is an erotic story of 2 people who fell in love for the right reasons. Are you ready to be tantalized?  Rebecca was raised in the midwest and decided to move to the Big Apple…..New York City after she graduated from college. Rebecca is a stock broker working at the famous Wall Street stock exchange building. One morning a tall Marine who had come back from Iraq came there to ring the morning bell. He was a hero that saved some of his squad from death. That morning was the best thing that happened to Rebecca and from that day on the rest was nothing but the greatest love affair anyone would die for.

Angie Christine is currently working on her 4th book titled “The Fireman’s Revenge”, which is the sequel to the first book “The Fireman”

SM: Hello, how are you? Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to share with our audience.

AC: Thank you so much for having me as a guest.

SM: How would you describe your experience as a writer? You left your career as a Nypd officer to pursue a writing career, how do they compare?

AC: I love every aspect of being an author. Sometimes it can be challenging to convince people to purchase your book when you’re not out there in the social media like Terry McMillan or Steve Harvey or even Steven King. No one would have any 2nd thoughts to purchasing their books because of who they are…….people are starting to get to know Angie Christine little by little now. Once someone let’s me know how great my book was i would tell them to go spread the word. Word of mouth travels faster than mail.

SM: Which book to date would you say is your favorite, and why?

AC: Well first and foremost the Bible is my first love. In fact i still carry the Bible my parents recieved from the church that married them 54 years ago, but my favorite book of what I wrote is Tantalizing Pleasures. This book is my 3rd. The reason why I picked this book is because I see alot of myself in the character name Rebecca in the book.

SM: Have you shared any of your revelations in any of your book? Have any of them been based on a true story?

AC: Well in Tantalizing Pleasures the main character Rebecca fell madly in love with a Sgt. who was a Marine. I once dated a military guy but he was in the Army. I changed the branch because I love Marines….lol.   The story had bits and pieces of the military guy that I dated but I won’t reveal which ones. Tantalizing Pleasures wasn’t based on a true story though.

SM: What was your experience like on the Monique Show?  Is she as down to earth in person as she is on the big screen?

AC: Seeing Monique was a dream come true. I am such a big fan of hers and I think they need to put her show back on television. Alot of people can relate to her. She didn’t grow up rich and she battled a weight problem. The media always thinks skinny is better, but she flipped the script to show the world that she is just as talented as someone who is skinny.

Barber Shop “Chop up”

11222698_492171877625604_4489880442864566862_nNothing stands out in any community than the famous Red and White Striped pole. Recurrently associated with a blue stripe at times. This could be found twisting next to a small storefront or other places of operation; signifying a place where one could appropriate a haircut, a shave, possibly a manicure and a bit of masculine bonhomie. A wonderful contribution to any neighborhood and even around the world. Barbers are true comrades. One will marvel at their good-naturedness which sends friendliness amongst the world.

I was curious to know if other barbers in different parts of the country were indistinguishable. Excited about the thought; I disembarked the city of Chicago for a class with Dudley’s school of Cosmetology.FB_IMG_1438308786051FB_IMG_1438308798528 This trip was an Honor for me because Dudley’s Products are like the Mercedes Benz of hair products for African American Hair. This class possessed some of Americas Top Barbers from “Hotlanta” to my Hometown in Highland Park, MI. 11209560_492171967625595_302049933858343301_n 11755147_492171934292265_4101304602645663095_n

Meeting many a barber’s in my day and watching them come and go; there is something about a barber that entices me (no pun intended). These men are all driven by something. Me being me, of course I am going to satisfy my curiosity. In the “CHI” I had the Liberty of conversing with some well re-knowned Young Men that “cut up”. You can watch the video here, just click on the link. Enticing Resultz Magazine Live in Chicago

Sitting face to face with them and straight grilling them, I had questions and they had answers. So those of you that visit the barber shop or are even in thought of becoming a Barber, take notes. Because this stuff you simply won’t find in a text book.

Get Off Your High Horse & Give Up Your Colt!

There are so many ways that we cause ourselves much harm and stagnation simply by holding onto what we should already let go of. Case in point however, is the fact that the only real way to make room for the new is to first, let go of the old.

I’d like to imagine that life has probably taught you by now that it is not always the most gifted, talented, wealthy or even the smartest person who goes the furthest in life. Time and time again we see that the type of person who typically rises to the top in any endeavor of life is the one who learns the secret of sacrifice. In other words, the one who knows how to deny themselves what they want in the moment to get what they really want later tend to eventually get what they really want instead of what they had to settle for. By and large the masses of people however, tend to know a lot more about what it is to settle rather than what it is to experience true and lasting success because they refuse to fully understand and operate according to the laws of sacrifice.

Check this out. There’s a brief but powerful passage found in the following passage that offers us this teaching:

Mark 11:1-7, 12-14 [NKJV]

1 Now when they drew near Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples; 2and He said to them, “Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat.

Loose it and bring it. 3And if anyone says to you, “Why are you doing this?’ say, “The

Lord has need of it,’ and immediately he will send it here.”

4So they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door outside on the street, and they loosed it. 5But some of those who stood there said to them, “What are you doing, loosing the colt?”

6And they spoke to them just as Jesus had commanded. So they let them go. 7Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it.

I want you to keep in mind that the owner of this colt had a choice to make. Who knows how long he had taken care of this colt; how much he had paid for it or even how long it might had been in the family. In fact, none of these details are even revealed in the story or given any attention to whatsoever. The only thing that we can really conclude from the text is that the owner was instantly willing to obey the request of the Lord. Yes, he was ready to practice the law of sacrifice. You got it! What the Lord had need of; he was more than willing to give.

Some would suggest that the Lord doesn’t need us at all and that it is we who need him! True that! Yet, in one regard; that is only partially correct. Though the Lord could and does often do profound things without us or even in spite of us; the amazing thing about his work is that he often chooses to include us. Yes, I don’t know about you so I’ll just speak for myself, I often find it absolutely amazing how the Lord speaks to my heart and soul to tell me that he has need of me! Why!!! I tell you no lie; I know for a fact that he could use so many others far more well suited than I am to do many of the things that he is doing through me. I have no doubt in my mind about that! So surely he certainly could do without any of us though none of us could ever do without him but because of who he is; he chooses to use us about as much as we are at least willing to be used. Here am I; use me Lord!!!!

Here’s something to think about:

What is it that the Lord has already pointed out to you that he ‘has need of’ in your life? What element of your life does he desire to have more of from YOU: Your time? Your Talent? Your Treasure? Are you willing to loose your colt? Are you willing to let go of anything & everything in your life that the Lord has need of & wants to use? Tragically, the answer to that question for many of us

Is a resounding “NO.” No, we are not willing to give God any more of our time, NO, we do not desire to give that gift and talent to the Lord either and finally, once and for all, NO, we do not believe in giving the Lord our hard earned money. Yet, we are so click to say how much we love God! I’m afraid a good many of us though religious as we are, are a bit too much like the fig tree, spoken about by Jesus, in the same chapter:

12 Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.” And His disciples heard it.

According to the lesson from the fig tree, where do you think that pretending to give The Lord what you really haven’t given him from your heart will get you? Will you be more like the one who gave away his colt or the fig tree that pretended to be more spiritual than he really was? Hell To The Know there is a difference! Get Off Your High Horse & Give Up Your Colt!

Whole Again

“Mighty are the works of your hand God, I thank you that even in the brokenness, I can still become whole again. How great are you O’God that you can take a nothing like me and use me for your services.”

I found that when one is broken, often times they are not able to be fixed. When it comes to families it would almost seem impossible for even a temporary fix, because we just give up altogether and live our lives. But here is a truth I want you to know about; just because you have been broken doesn’t mean that you have been thrown away, you can become whole again. Just because you have been broken doesn’t mean that you are unusable. Just because you are broken doesn’t mean you need to be placed in a corner with no hope of coming out, nor can you be made whole again.

Just because you are broken doesn’t mean you have been forgotten about. See brokenness has the power unlike anything I know, but what I have learned is that in your brokenness, strength can still be had, even in brokenness you can find your own inspiration, because it’s in those moments your hurt is so deep and you began to wonder; “what is this?” And something began to happen where you notice you were made for something more. There in that hurt, in that brokenness you began to search for your purpose and you find yourself beginning the process of becoming whole again.

Someone maybe asking how can you find purpose in your brokenness, or in the hurt? “They talked about me, they laughed at me, they lied on me, and you are telling me I can find purpose in all of that?” Yes I am. With the scars of your life, God will allow you to heal. Those healed wounds, God will get the Glory from. You may feel like the brokenness has rendered you useless in life. You may feel beyond repair this time. You may feel tossed aside. Forgotten, Shamed. Rejected, As you sit there and sit in your pity party. The scars of life, the healed wounds, the deep lines, they all have stories to tell and you are to be the one. In fact you are the only one that can tell, because nobody can tell it better than you. Yet often we try to hide our brokenness. Preferring to look good to and for the world. Instead of presenting to the world who you truly are, you don’t want to risk the difficulties of it all. If you front somehow it becomes alright. Well I come by to tell you, stop the fronting. Deal with the truth of the matter, reveal your vulnerability exposing it for what it was.The reason we can allow it to be exposed is because we have a healer.

One who repairs, one who can fit the broken pieces that no longer seem to fit right into a perfect design, I am a living witness of that, Just look at me, who would have thought that some seven years later, I would have gone back gotten my Masters Degree in Divinity School, of Bible Education. Who would have thought I would have been doing all that in this time of my life at the age I am, God was working, behind the scenes on my behalf, mending and fitting me back together, creating a better me a better work of art than before, more than I could ever have dreamed possible. He makes all things brand new, He makes all things beautiful. Especially in the broken area of your life all from his grace it is real life.

Serrated and rough edges and all they have even have meaning. Listen whatever your brokenness, whether it rape, drug addiction, broken marriage, domestic violence, and low-esteem, whatever it maybe God can break through all that mess. Don’t ever be ashamed of your scars; let those scars tell your story so that you can help someone else, your scars are your stories.

God sent His son into the world for this very thing that is why Jesus story is so powerful even today, He was the very epitome bringing life to what was broken, because He Himself was broken and He was broken for us. Behold, I am making all things new (Revelation 21:5). God said that enough for me that settle it. (2 Corinthians 5:17) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (Isaiah 43:19). Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3). He has made everything beautiful in its time.

Father we thank you that even in our brokenness, we can still be made whole, we thank you for sending your Son to become the very epitome of brokenness, because it was through His brokenness that we were able to be healed. Thank you for your mercy and grace, thank you for being a great God, thank you for opening eyes that we might see your Glory, thank you for your peace and restoration, because God we know that Giants do fall down, and that’s all our brokenness was it was a giant that you got the Glory from, O’God we thank your now for being brand new. The things we did not think we could accomplish we have, be we allow ourselves to be vulnerable to your people and through our vulnerability they are now able to be healed. We thank you God for it all in Jesus name Amen.
